he Breitling Colt was born in the 1980s and initially intended for the armed forces – like other Breitling watches such as the Navitimer and the Chronomat – before winning over a broad audience through its sturdiness, its reliability and its readability. It has since established itself as the most accessible Breitling model.
The Colt line was redesigned in 2011, and also split off from the Aeromarine series into its own category.
The Colt combines iconic design features that defined the brand in the 80s and 90s and has withstood the test of time by modernising some features whilst still retaining the essence of the original model, thus making the Colt a true embodiment of style.
For Breitling, the concepts of performance and reliability are of primary importance. A concrete example of these twin priorities is the Colt range, a line of products renowned for their precision and their sturdiness. Among them, the chronograph version is doubtless the most elaborate. In addition to an extremely high level of finish, the case is designed to provide optimal shock-resistance, as underscored by the lateral crown reinforcements and the protective pushpiece rings. Its water resistance is guaranteed to 660 feet (200 meters), equivalent to a pressure of 20 bars. The Chrono Colt also enables measurement of short times to within the nearest 1/10th of a second with split times, as well as fast timezone changes without disturbing the running of the minute and seconds hands.
