The Toyota Fortuner has gained immense popularity as a best-selling midsize SUV in the Philippines. Since its inception in the early 2000s, this rugged ladder-frame vehicle has become a household name known for its durability and strong brand support. The refreshed design of the Fortuner exudes a sleeker appearance, and buyers now have the option to choose the sportier and more rugged LTD trim in either a 4×2 or 4×4 configuration.

On October 17, 2020, Toyota Philippines launched the facelifted version of the Fortuner, featuring a new top-of-the-line variant called the LTD trim, which incorporates rugged reinforcements. Lower variants of the SUV also received a separate facelift, along with updated engine options. The gasoline 2.7-liter engine was subsequently removed from the Fortuner lineup.
