This version of the OP, the ref. 76080, is one of the more classic variations of the design family over the past twenty years. Produced right around the turn of the millennium, the had all the makings of a traditional 26mm Lady’s Oyster Perpetual, but produced here with a smooth as compared to traditional fluted bezel
Outside of its bezel, the 76080 is all OP, complete with its steel Oyster case and bracelet, Twinlock screw-down crown, and classic Rolex dial configuration. The watch also lacks some of Rolex’s visual signatures, like the aforementioned fluted bezel or a date window and the subsequent Cyclops, so it feels aesthetically refreshing against the stereotypical ideas of what a Rolex can and cannot be.
The 76080 could be the ideal watch to start or finish a collection. It toes the line between the worlds of sporty and dressy, with that extra touch of intrigue with its uncommon bezel all the while being extremely versatile on smaller wrists at only 26mm.
